Set within Park House on North Street, Horsham Register Office is a venue I always enjoy returning to. It’s a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian building that feels elegant without being intimidating, and its position backing directly onto Horsham Park gives it a calm, green outlook right in the heart of town. Inside and out, it photographs wonderfully in every season, which is one of the reasons it remains a favourite of mine.
From a practical, photographer-friendly point of view, the flow here works brilliantly. After the ceremony, guests exit into the rear garden first and naturally line the steps, which sets up a perfect moment when the couple follow — ideal for a big, joyful group shot straight away. The steps are also a great spot for family photos before guests drift back into the gardens, keeping everything close, relaxed and unhurried.
The gardens themselves are consistently immaculate and incredibly versatile. I often begin couple portraits with a gentle walk along the paths, which helps couples relax and creates natural, candid images before moving into more classic shots. No two weddings here ever look the same — the light, the foliage and the pace of the day always bring something different. Horsham Register Office is a venue that quietly delivers every time: elegant, efficient and a genuine pleasure to photograph.
